Relaxing after a long day

30 April 2015

You've spent what seems like forever carrying out your university work, or working all day at the office, and you can't wait to come home and just unwind. A much well-deserved break, if you ask me. Life gets so busy sometimes, and it seems like a list of never ending chores. But it's so important to take some time out for yourself every once in a while, and give yourself some time to re-energise. It's been proven that taking a break and letting the mind wonder, helps increase productivity as well. Everyone has different ways of relaxing at the end of the day. Here are just a few tips to help you find yours!

1) Order your favourite dish
Give yourself a break from your regular cooking routine, and order out a meal instead! It's your reward for working so hard throughout the day (or even the month!) No large pile of dishes to wash at the end of your day, and more time for relaxation.

2) Shower your tension away
Get yourself feeling refreshed and re-energised, by letting the warm water ease away the tension you've carried for the past several days. Take your time. There's no need to rush. Let the water take away your worries, and just feel present in this very moment.

3) Pampering away with face masks
Not only are face masks good for your skin, but also make you feel amazingly refreshed and brand new. Detoxify away from the day, and indulge in those moments of peace, quiet and serenity. Switch on some relaxing music while you pamper away. Personally I love listening to instrumental soundtracks when I do this - they are the perfect way to unwind. Those slow and soft calming tones - it honestly feels like a little piece of heaven.

4) A date with movie and dessert
Now that you're all primped and ready, switch on your favourite movie or maybe even that film you've been meaning to watch for a while. Whilst watching your film, indulge in our favourite dessert by candle light. My favourite - fruit mashed together with a scoop of Ben and Jerry's, dashed on the side. Thinking about it, just has my mouth watering!
